MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. gave gifts to children in Malacañang as part of ‘Balik Sigla, Bigay Saya: Nationwide gift giving.’

Marcos was joined by First Lady Liza Marcos in the activity where they even played with the children who attended the gift distribution.

“Kaya’t this is a very, very happy day for me dahil tradisyon ito dati pa dito sa Palasyo. Gumagawa kami ng children’s party ‘pag Pasko para naman eh lahat nakakasiguro tayo, lahat ng ating kabataan sa buong Pilipinas ay mayroong Pasko at mayroong kaunting party, may kaunting gift-giving, may kaunting palaro, at lahat ‘yan,” Marcos said.

Marcos added that gift giving is being done in 40 other places in the country.

“More than 40 locations around the Philippines gumagawa rin tayo ng ganito para rin makatiyak na kahit saan sa Pilipinas ay nagawan natin ng paraan upang mabigyan ng Pasko ang ating mga kabataan,” the President said.

The Office of the Press Secretary said that the gifts were provided by private businesses as well as government agencies that include the Office of the President (OP); Department of Health (DOH); Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
