MANILA — Senators as well as officials, employees, and visitors evacuated the Senate building this afternoon Wednesday (07 Dec 2022) after experiencing a strong earthquake.

Personnel of the Office of the Sargent at Arms (OSSA) managed the evacuation of all the people inside the Senate building to ensure everyone’s safety.

A thorough inspection of the building followed and soon after making sure that the building is safe, the senators, their staff, and guests of the Senate went back inside.

Everyone who came out of the Senate was exposed to the intense sunlight but they never complained as the sudden evacuation was done for their own safety.

However, one Senate employee identified as Medy Venturina complained about increased blood pressure, causing the doctors and employees of the senate clinic to immediately check on his condition which soon normalized.
