MANILA — Preventing and controlling crimes are but a few of the missions of the Philippine National Police and aligned to these, the organization implemented high-impact anti-crime campaigns aimed at neutralizing all forms of criminal activities.

One of these, PRO7 Director Police Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba said, is the relentless crackdown on illegal gambling and e-Sabong operations in the region through intelligence gathering by the police and reports from local informers.

To date, Alba said, 11 operations were reported to have led to 48 arrests and the seizures of at least P119,348 in bet money.

“I would like to commend all the operating units and personnel across the region, especially all the Commanders who made this possible. I wholeheartedly thank you for the outstanding efforts you have exerted in the performance of your duties. I never had a doubt that our team went this far, beyond excellency, as I can see your abilities and dedication to serve and protect our community anchored on CPNP’s MKK=K and the Revitalized PNP Kasimbayanan,” Alba said.

“Such operations are key to the collective fight against illegal gambling and cooperation framework among all police units and stations in Central Visayas. Job well done, Team!,” added BGen Alba. (ai/mtvn)
