MANILA — To ensure the ISO Quality Management System of continuing suitability, adequacy, effectiveness, and alignment with the strategic direction of the port, the Bureau of Customs-Port of Batangas held its annual management review last Tuesday, 28 March 2023.
District Collector Atty. Ma. Rhea Gregorio presided over the meeting which was attended by quality management representatives, process owners, and document controllers.
On the other hand, the surveillance audit for the maintenance of the port’s QMS is set for April when the port of Batangas will mark its 11th year of being an ISO-certified Port.
Meanwhile, key officers of the Bureau of Customs, led by Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio, convened a Collectors’ Conference to discuss the bureau’s accomplishments and updates as well as the plans and programs for the year.
Commissioner Rubio also congratulated and commended the collection districts that have exceeded their targets for February 2023.
“It is clear that all the districts are on the right path as seen in the reports that have been presented today,” said Commissioner Rubio.
“For the hard work of all our collection districts, I express my appreciation and congratulations,” he added.
In the month of February 2023, the port of Batangas, behind the leadership of DC Gregorio, posted the highest revenue collection for the Bureau of Customs.
With a total cash collection of 17.314 billion pesos, the BOC-POB has, for the second time this year, topped the collection performance of the collection districts in the Philippines for February 2023.
The Port’s collection is approximately 27.54% of the total BOC collection for the month.
The port registered a 2.277 billion pesos surplus or up by 15.14% from its 15.037 billion pesos revenue target.
This month’s performance is notably 22.01% higher than its posted collection of 14.19 billion pesos on February 2022.
