MANILA — A senior member of the leadership of the House of Representatives on Thursday congratulated the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for earning high trust ratings in the recent survey of polling firm Octa Research.
“Survey after survey, we see high ratings for President Marcos Jr. and key government officials including our dear House Speaker Martin G. Romualdez. Be it satisfaction, approval, or trust ratings, the Marcos administration consistently earns high marks!” said Cavite Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr., chair of the House Committee on Natural Resources.
The latest Tugon ng Masa (TNM) Q1 2023 survey of Octa Research saw President Marcos Jr. obtaining a trust rating of 83%, while Vice President Sara Duterte, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, and Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo earned 87%, 50%, and 39%, respectively.
Speaker Romualdez obtained a 55% trust rating, the biggest increase in ratings from the last TNM October 2022 survey, with a hike of +17%. The House leader also got the highest gain in performance rating, or +15%, for the two survey periods.
“Speaker Romualdez’s high trust ratings are a genuine reflection of the hard work of the House of Representatives and its members. This will certainly inspire us to do more, strive better, and work harder to serve the Filipino people.” Barzaga expressed.
“Hindi naman sa sinasabi nating nagtratrabaho tayo para sa mataas na ratings sa survey, pero tunay namang nakakatuwa pag alam nating nakikita ng ating mga kababayan ang magandang ginagawa hindi lamang ng Kongreso, pati na ang buong administrasyon ni Pangulong Marcos Jr.,” he added.
The five government officials – the heads of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government – also scored high in previous approval and satisfaction surveys of Pulse Asia and Social Weather Stations.
In the recent Pulse Asia survey, Romualdez and Zubiri obtained a high approval rating of 51 percent. The same survey indicated that President Marcos Jr. and Vice President Duterte received high approval ratings, 78 percent, and 83 percent, respectively.
The SWS survey in December also saw the House of Representatives under the leadership of Romualdez garnering a high satisfaction rating of +56, ranked as “Very Good.”
“So this is a confirmation. If you consistently score very high in successive surveys that deal with public approval, trust or satisfaction, it confirms you are doing a good job. So I congratulate all the officials who scored high in these surveys,” Barzaga said.
