CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – The Quezon provincial government welcomed the surrender of three (3) Milisyang Bayan members and two (2) from Sangay sa Partido Lokalidad as well as the withdrawal of support of 15 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters from the municipalities of Tagkawayan and Macalelon over the weekend.
This was announced by the military and the Municipal Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict of Tagkawayan and Macalelon, with assistance from the 85th Infantry “Sandiwa” Battalion, Quezon PNP, Tagkawayan PNP.
The Macalelon PNP accordingly facilitated the surrender of the three MBs and two SPL members and the withdrawal of support of 15 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters, all of whom are residents of barangay Malabahay in Macalelon and Casispalan in Tagkawayan.
“We remain committed to supporting our partners in peace and progress in CALABARZON as we help build insurgency-resilient and progressive communities in Southern Tagalog,” 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
“Together with our partners from the LGUs and other key stakeholders, we welcome the growing trust and cooperation of our Kababayans in this part of the country.”
