CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – Two Milisyang Bayan (MB) members have surrendered while a total of 18 CPP-NPA-NDF militants withdrew their support to the Communist Terrorist Group across the municipalities of Tagkawayan and Mulanay, Quezon from Monday to Tuesday, April 24-25, 2023.

Aguirre, respectively, facilitated their surrender with the assistance of ranking officers from the 85th Infantry “Sandiwa” Battalion.
Members of the Quezon Philippine National Police, Tagkawayan PNP and Mulanay PNP also took part in the surrender of the two MB members from Barangay Malabahay of Macalelon and the withdrawal of support of 18 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters in Barangays Casispalan and Kinatakutan in Tagakawayan, and Cambuga in Mulanay.
“We are grateful for the increasing support of our communities to the government’s
peace efforts to end insurgency in partnership with our LGUs and key stakeholders. With this, we urge the remaining rebels and their supporters to return to the government’s side to help bring peace and development in the region,” 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Maj. Gen Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
