2 vessels collide off Corregidor in Bataan; one dead, 18 rescued, 1 missing — PCG

MANILA — Two vessels involving a dredger and a chemical and oil product tanker collided near Corregidor Island in Bataan on Friday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Saturday.

The PCG said a crew member died as a result of the collision while 18 others were rescued.

Search and rescue (SAR) operation is still ongoing for the last missing crew member, the PCG added.

It also said the vessels involved in the collision were the Sierra Leone-flagged MV Hong Hai 189 and the Marshall Island-flagged MT Petite Soeur.
