DASMARINAS CITY, Cavite — A person who identified himself as a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agent and lawyer was arrested by the police here in a subdivision following a complaint from homeowners on Sunday, May 14, 2023.
The suspect who is facing charges of Usurpation of Authority was identified as General Ford Sam Hermogenes Jr. y Flores, 65 years old, single, a resident of Block 32 Lot 22 Acacia Street, Barangay Bulihan, Silang Cavite.
Prior to this, the police received a call from the Barangay Chairman of Brgy Salitran 3 regarding a group of people gathering in Molino Homes 2 Subdivision, Brgy. Salitran 3, Dasmarinas City at around 10:30 a.m. that day which allegedly caused concern among the homeowners.
The police immediately responded, and a man approached them claiming to be a lawyer and an NBI agent. He showed them an NBI Identification Card signed by HA Danielito Lalusis, Chief IPRD (Intellectual Property Rights Division).
Due to suspicion, the police verified the information with the NBI and discovered that the said ID was fake, as well as the person’s claim of being a lawyer, leading to his arrest. (ai/mtvn)
