MANILA — Fair weather with sporadic rain showers is expected across the Philippines today, Monday (05 Feb 2024), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring isolated light rains to Batanes and Babuyan Islands, while the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms and the easterlies.
Severe thunderstorms could lead to flash floods or landslides.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are anticipated in the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. In Northern Luzon, moderate winds and moderate coastal waters are expected.
For other areas, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
PAGASA forecaster Obet Badrina mentioned that no tropical cyclone is forecasted to affect the country this week.
