MANILA — Rising star Carl Jammes Martin of Lagawe, Ifugao will make his highly anticipated debut in Las Vegas, the heart of boxing, on Saturday, March 22 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.
The 25-year-old from Lagawe, Ifugao, will face Colombia’s Jose Sanmartin in a non-title 10-round super bantamweight showdown.
After a successful run in Mexico, where he defeated Anthony Jimenez Salas and Ruben Tostado Garcia via technical knockouts, Martin remains undefeated in 25 fights, with 20 knockouts.
This fight marks a major milestone for the young boxer, as he sets his sights on a title eliminator in the near future.
“I’m beyond excited to fight in Las Vegas,” Martin said. “Growing up, I watched many greats, like Manny Pacquiao, fight in this city. Now, I’m following in their footsteps—it’s a dream come true.”
Promoter Sean Gibbons, also president of Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions, expressed his full support for Martin’s 2025 world title ambitions.
“Having Carl’s first U.S. fight in Las Vegas is incredibly special. He’s on his way to big things, and this is just the beginning.”
Sanmartin, with a 35-9-1 record and 21 knockouts, promises to be a tough challenge for Martin.
The Colombian fighter has already faced top contenders like former WBO super bantamweight champion Emmanuel Navarrete, making this fight a crucial test for Martin’s rise in the division.
