Former vice president Leni Robredo and former senator Antonio Trillanes IV have lauded the decision of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) to allow former senator Leila De Lima to post bail.

Robredo said that after six years of De Lima’s detention, the truth has finally prevailed.

“Matagal nating hinintay ang araw na ito, sa pananalig na ang tama at totoo ang palaging mananaig,” Robredo said.

“Pinatutunayang muli ngayon na walang basehan ang mga paratang laban kay Senator Leila. Ang lahat ng mga paninira at panggigipit na naranasan niya sa loob ng halos pitong taon ay bunga ng kaniyang pangangahas na tumindig para sa tama—para sa ating mga kababayan,” she added.

Robredo furthered that De Lima has been a source of inspiration for the people, saying that her courage and faith lent the people resolve to “continue fighting the good fight, to speak truth to power, and to keep believing that the Filipino people deserve so much more.”

The former vice president said that it was “a win for the country.”

Trillanes said that “it is the biggest step in her quest for justice and redemption.”

“The whole world will now know how Duterte misused and abused power to persecute those who dared stand up to his murderous regime,” the former senator said.

On Monday, De Lima’s counsel announced that the court allowed the lady senator to post bail amounting P300,000.

CHANGING ITS POLITICAL COLOR, from yellow to pink, must be playing jinx to former Vice President Leni Robredo and her allies from the once powerful yellow Liberal Party.

Robredo, Liberal Party (LP) presidential bet in 2016 Mar Roxas, former Senate President Frank Drilon, former Senator Bam Aquino, and other allies did not make it to the so-called “Magic 12” in the latest OCTA survey conducted from Sept. 30 to Oct 4.

Only 12 senators will be elected in the upcoming 2025 midterm national and local elections.

In the survey, Robredo landed between 14th to 32nd place in the survey of preferred senatorial contenders for the 2025 elections.

She only got a dismal 15% preference rating from survey respondents.

Blamed by former Manila mayor Isko Moreno for fomenting disunity among the opposition forces in the 2022 presidential contest, Robredo thrashed away the yellow color which has been the symbol of the anti-dictatorship struggle, and shifted to pink color.

Notably, in the last 2022 polls, only re-electionist Senator Risa Hontiveros “survived” the humiliating defeat of the opposition and won a Senate seat.

Former Senator Francis Pangilinan placed 13th to 23rd in the survey with a voter preference rating of 19 percent.

Drilon and Bam Aquino who’s rumored to be Robredo’s financier also landed between 17th place to 36th place with a voter preference rating of 13 percent.

Roxas, human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, and former Senator Leila de Lima also failed to the survey’s top 12.

Surprisingly, broadcaster and now ACT CIS party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo topped the Octa survey, garnering a 60 percent voter preference rating.
