MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecasted widespread rainfall across the country this Monday (10 Feb 2025) due to the influence of three weather systems.
The shear line will bring scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms to the Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Quezon, and Aurora.
In addition, the easterlies are expected to cause similar weather conditions in Caraga, as well as in Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon.
PAGASA also cautioned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these regions could trigger flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will bring light, isolated rains to the remaining parts of Luzon, while the easterlies will cause afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms across Mindanao.
Flash floods and landslides remain a concern, especially during intense thunderstorms, according to the 4 a.m. advisory from the weather bureau.
The northeast monsoon is expected to result in strong to gale-force winds, leading to rough to very rough seas in Northern and Central Luzon, as well as the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and the Visayas.
Other parts of Luzon and the Visayas will see moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters. In Mindanao, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are anticipated.
