G-Dragon, the leader of the K-pop boy group BIGBANG, has recently come under police investigation due to allegations of drug use. This development was reported by Korean media on Wednesday (October 25).

According to News1, a prominent Korean news outlet, G-Dragon was booked by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency for purportedly violating the Narcotic Control Act. The police have not disclosed further details about the case, as it is still under investigation.

It is important to note that G-Dragon’s case is unrelated to that of Parasite star Lee Sun-kyun, who was recently reported to be under investigation for alleged drug use.

YG Entertainment, the long-time label of BIGBANG, declined to comment on the matter. They explained, “G-Dragon is currently not an artist under our agency, so it is difficult for us to make an official response,” as reported by Soompi.

In 2011, G-Dragon faced a controversy when he was suspected of smoking marijuana at an after-party hosted by BIGBANG in Japan. Although his urine test came back negative, a hair test indicated faintly positive results, leading him to admit to the charges that same year.

In 2012, he discussed the issue on the SBS show Healing Camp, explaining that he had been heavily intoxicated when offered what he believed to be a regular cigarette by a party guest. Wanting to avoid appearing disrespectful, he accepted the offer and claimed ignorance about the smell and characteristics of marijuana, stating, “I’ve never been exposed to marijuana, so I don’t even know what it smells like.”
