MANILA — In a statement given to ABS-CBN News, Ricco Ocampo, a close friend and godfather to actor Jericho Rosales and model/influencer Kim Jones, confirmed their separation. According to Ocampo, the couple mutually decided to part ways in 2019 after nearly a decade of marriage, describing the split as amicable and handled with grace and maturity.
“While maintaining a strong friendship, Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones have chosen to lead separate lives, encouraging each other to grow in different directions,” Ocampo stated. Despite their decision to part ways, he emphasized the enduring friendship between them and their commitment to respecting each other.
Expressing gratitude for the memories and lessons learned together, Ocampo mentioned that the separation was approached with utmost care and respect. He highlighted the deep bond between Echo and Kim, describing them as the best of friends who love each other like family.
“Echo and Kim only wish the best for each other,” Ocampo stated. “They are incredibly grateful for those who have supported them throughout the years and appreciate the respect of their privacy during this time.”
Rumors about their separation surfaced in 2022 when netizens noticed a decrease in shared social media photos. Despite this, they were still seen together at the ABS-CBN Ball on September 30 of the same year. In September, Jones posted a birthday message for Rosales, sparking speculations about the status of their relationship.
“Birthday boy in his natural habitat. This year is yours @jerichorosalesofficial!!!!” she wrote alongside a photo of Rosales swimming in La Union.
Responding with affection, Rosales replied, “I loooove! Back at you, [queen]! [heart emoji].”
The couple’s journey began in March 2011 when they met through actor Dominic Ochoa’s wife. Though officially becoming a couple in October of the same year, they publicly disclosed their relationship in March 2012 and got engaged in August 2013.
