MANILA – Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will affect parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao due to the easterlies, while the northeast monsoon (“amihan”) brings moderate to heavy rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Aurora, and Quezon, the state weather bureau PAGASA reported Friday (31 Jan 2025).
Residents in these areas should be on alert for possible flash floods and landslides. Light rains are also expected in Metro Manila, Rizal, Ilocos Region, and Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, strong winds and rough seas will prevail across Northern and Southern Luzon, as well as the eastern sections of Central Luzon and Visayas. Moderate to rough coastal waters are also expected in parts of Mindanao and the rest of Luzon.
PAGASA noted no tropical cyclones are currently forming in Philippine waters.
