MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has officially signed into law the Tatak Pinoy Act, now Republic Act (RA) 11981, aimed at bolstering support for Filipino products.
“The Tatak Pinoy Act aims to invest in the Filipino capability to produce quality goods and deliver excellent services,” Marcos stated.
According to Malacañang, the law is designed to foster inclusive economic growth and development in the country by encouraging, supporting, and promoting the production and offering of a diverse range of local products and services of increasingly high standards by domestic enterprises that are globally competitive.
With the law coming into effect following its signing on Monday (26 Feb 2024), Marcos underscored the government’s commitment to bolster Filipino entrepreneurs, promoting their creations on the global stage, and stimulating the nation’s economy.
“Tatak Pinoy is more than just a branding exercise. It is about nurturing and incentivizing outstanding products worthy of carrying the ‘Made in the Philippines’ label,” remarked the President.
