MANILA — Senator Bong Revilla has called for the affordability of medicines and supplements for senior citizens.
During the hearing of the Committee on Social Justice, Welfare, and Rural Development on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Revilla emphasized the necessity for the state to provide aid to senior citizens to help them afford these essential needs.
The senator expressed optimism that Senate Bill No. 262, also known as the “Abot-Kayang Gamot, Bitamina at Gatas Para sa Malusog na Senior Citizen Act,” which he authored, would be approved in the Senate.
“Considering the pensions they receive are often insufficient to cover their daily needs… let us not burden our senior citizens,” Revilla stated.
“Let us not only ensure the accessibility of these vitamins, medicines, and supplements but, more importantly, their affordability,” he added.
