Exhibiting a formidable defensive stance, Far Eastern University overcame their offensive hiccups and thwarted Perpetual Help in a thrilling match, securing a victory with set scores of 28-26, 17-25, 25-17, and 25-13 in the V-League Women’s Collegiate Challenge held at the Paco Arena in Manila on Wednesday.

The Lady Tamaraws showcased an astounding 19 blocks, with Chenie Tagaod, Mitzi Panangin, and Jazlyn Ellarina teaming up for an impressive tally of 10 blocks.

Tagaod also showcased her prowess in attack, delivering 12 successful kills to contribute 16 points overall, while Panangin contributed eight kills, amounting to a total of 12 points.

Ellarina, a former mainstay of National U, closed the match with nine points, which included two crucial blocks.

This triumph served as a significant follow-up to the Lady Tams’ dominant straight-set victory over the Mapua Lady Cards just last week.

Mary Rose Dapol notched an impressive 12 points, while Tracy Andal exhibited an excellent dig performance with 18 successful digs for the Lady Altas, who moved to a 1-1 record following their victory over the San Sebastian Lady Stags last Friday. (ai/mnm)
