MANILA — In a heartbreaking incident, thirteen lives were lost in a fire that erupted in a school dormitory located in the county of Fangcheng, Nanyang City, within central China’s Henan Province, on Friday night, as reported by local authorities on Saturday morning.

At 11 p.m. on Friday, the local fire department received an alarm regarding a dormitory fire at Yingcai School in Yanshanpu Village, Dushu Town.

Rescue teams swiftly arrived at the scene, successfully extinguishing the flames by 11:38 p.m. Unfortunately, the tragic incident resulted in the loss of over a dozen lives.

One individual sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.

Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire.
