Jerrold Pete Mangliwan secured the Philippines’ fifth gold medal at the 4th Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou, China, on Friday.

In the 400-meter T52 wheelchair racing event on October 27, Mangliwan set a new personal record with a remarkable time of 1:01.54. This outstanding performance earned him the gold medal.

The Japanese competitors, Hiroka Ueyonabaru (1:01.79) and Tatsuya Ito (1:04.96), claimed the silver and bronze medals in the same event.

This victory marks Mangliwan’s second medal at the Asian Para Games, following his silver medal win in the 100m T52 race earlier in the week.

At the time of this report, the Philippines has amassed a total of 5 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals in the ongoing Asian Para Games, which are scheduled to conclude on Saturday.
