In a significant development, the reins of the Philippine Women’s National Football Team will now be held by another Australian figure the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) said Wednesday.
Mark Torcaso, the reigning Coach of the Year for A-League Women, previously at the helm of Melbourne’s Western United FC, will be taking over from fellow Australian Alek Stajcic the sports organization said.
The PFF’s official website carried the statement, “The Philippine Football Federation is pleased to introduce Mark Torcaso, an Australian coach, as the newly appointed head coach for the Philippine Women’s National Team.”
Formalizing his appointment, Torcaso engaged with PFF officials in Sydney over the past weekend. (AI/MNM)
