MANILA — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) continues to deliver positive results in its crime prevention efforts during the past week, reflecting continued efforts to enhance public safety.
From November 24 to 30, 2024, crime decreased by 17.52% across Metro Manila compared to the previous week, November 17 to 23, 2024.
In addition to decreasing crime incidents, the NCRPO intensified its operations against wanted individuals, arresting 337 persons, including 137 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and 200 Other Wanted Persons (OWPs).
The NCRPO strengthened its anti-illegal drug operations from November 24 to 30, 2024, yielding impressive outcomes across Metro Manila. The total estimated street value of the seized items amounted to ₱32,340,779.00.
The intensified campaign against illegal gambling also yielded notable results, with 187 operations conducted, leading to the arrest of 449 individuals. A total of ₱114,147.50 worth of gambling paraphernalia and proceeds were seized.
Parallel to these efforts, the NCRPO also focused on addressing firearms’s illegal possession and proliferation in preparation for the 2025 National and Local Elections. A total of 25 firearms were confiscated during 25 operations, which resulted in the arrest of 25 individuals.
PBGEN Anthony Aberin, Acting Regional Director of the NCRPO, credited these achievements to applying “AAA” policing principles, emphasizing the ABLE, ACTIVE, and ALLIED characteristics of NCRPO personnel.
“NCRPO will continue to increase police presence in strategic areas, introduce responsive crime reduction approaches, and conduct intelligence-driven operations calculated to redound to a safer and more secure Metro Manila. In all these undertakings, the partnership of the police and the community will be a primordial strategy,” ARD Aberin stated.

MANILA — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday (09 Jan 2024) said that approximately 2.8 million individuals participated in this year’s Traslacion after several years of being shelved owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of 1:00 pm, the NCRPO reported a total attendance of 2,807,700, encompassing participants at the Quirino Grandstand, the Traslacion procession, and Quiapo Church.
Amidst global COVID-19 concerns, authorities had initially projected a turnout of two million people for the event, which had been postponed until three years ago.
However, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) reported that over 600 devotees required medical attention. More than 1,000 PRC volunteers were deployed to assist attendees of the Black Nazarene.
