BORBON, Cebu — At long last, the age-old fervent dream of Borbonanons to have a quality education for their children is now fulfilled with the groundbreaking of Cebu Technological University (CTU) campus at the two-hectare donated lot of Mayor Noel T. Dotillos in Barangay Cadaruhan with approved budget of P85 million for Phase 1.

Cebu Provincial Board Member Mike Villamor accompanied House Deputy Speaker and Cebu’s 5th District Representative Duke Frasco on Friday, November 17, to finally groundbreak the new CTU Campus in this municipality, together with Liloan Mayor Aljew Frasco, Borbon Mayor Noel T. Dotillos, Vice Mayor Roy Melgo, councilors, and barangay captains.

It was learned that Phase 1 already started with a P60 million allocated budget.

“Namugna kining maong proyekto tungod sa gugma sa pagpanerbisyo ug paningkamot ni Cong. Duke Frasco alang sa atong mga kabatan-onan nga nangandoy nga makatungha ug koleheyo sa minus nga gasto ug de kalidad nga edukasyon (This project was created because of Congressman Frasco’s love to serve and his efforts for the benefit of our youth who dream of having an affordable and quality college education),” Dotillos said.

The Borbonanons have profusely thanked Dotillos for donating two hectares of his personal property in Barangay Cadaruhan where the CTU campus will be constructed.

“Si Mayor NTD lang gyud ang nakatuman sa iyang mga saad alang sa kalamboan sa Borbon (Only Mayor NTD has fulfilled his promises for the development of Borbon),” some residents told Maharlika NuMedia.

CTU is a coeducational, non-sectarian, and state-funded university.

On April 27, 2022, Republic Act (RA) 11751, principally authored by Frasco, was signed into law by President Marcos establishing CTU campuses in Borbon and Liloan towns north of Cebu.
