PAMPANGA will build more school buildings, including two high school learning facilities, as part of its goal to make education more accessible to Pampangueños.
Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab of the province’s 2nd district said the 2024 budget will allot P200 million for the local government’s Special Education Fund.
She said that more than half of the SEF has been appropriated for the construction of elementary and high school buildings.
“Yan talaga ang priority namin ni Gov. Dennis Pineda…na sana halos lahat ng Kapampangan kung maari makatapos ng pag-aaral,” she said.
At the same time, Pineda-Cayabyab appealed to all mayors in Pampanga to support the provincial government’s plan to establish satellite campuses or state universities in their jurisdictions.
“Sa mga kasama nating mayors, sana suportahan natin ang pagkakaroon ng state universities sa mga bayan. Hindi naman kaya ng provincial government na kami lang. At syempre kasama din ang Commission on Higher Education, at ang basic education. Kami dito sa kapitolyo, priority natin ‘yan,” she said.
The provincial government recently added 2,984 scholars as beneficiaries of its Educational Financial Assistance Program.
Pineda, along with Board Members Pineda-Cayabyab and Fritzie David Dizon, recently distributed a cash assistance of P4,000 each to the new beneficiaries, which includes 113 Aetas from Porac and Floridablanca.
