MANILA — The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) reported that certain “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” stalls in the Bicol region have been offering rice at P20 per kilo during the project’s launch in the province.

Those prioritized to receive rice at P20.00 per kilogram include members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries, the elderly, and persons with special needs.

Regular customers, on the other hand, were able to purchase rice at P35 per kilo.

“It serves as a gesture of gratitude from Irrigators Associations (IAs) to give back to the less privileged members of their community, utilizing the government’s support,” stated the NIA.

Furthermore, the NIA noted that fruits, vegetables, delicacies, and other farm products were also available at affordable prices at the “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” stalls.

The NIA emphasized its commitment to increasing rice production, aiming for the realization of the “Bagong Pilipinas.”
