MANILA — On November 16, 2023, the Bangon Pilar Artists inaugurated “Sining Payag,” a vibrant hub for artists and art enthusiasts. The initiative received steadfast support from the Honorable Mayor Arnold Perez in advancing Culture, Arts, and Development in the Municipality of Pilar, Capiz.

This artistic haven will serve as an exhibition space and venue for activities dedicated to promoting arts and culture, particularly for local artists.

Renowned Iloilo Music and Art Icon, Mr. PG “Boyet” Zoluanga, served as the resource speaker, imparting his skills through a workshop with the Guban Handuraw Group. Participants included students from Capiz State University and pupils from Sinamongan Integrated School in Pilar, Capiz.

The Pilar Community Rondalla group, led by Mr. Daniel Demafeliz and Mrs. Adora Delfin of the Department of Education’s Pilar Elementary School, also captivated the audience with their musical renditions.

The DepEd Sinamongan Integrated School SPA Class, guided by Mr. Marvy Balgame and Mr. Elmer Patricio, showcased their dance and theatrical prowess, adding dynamic elements to the event.

Dr. Evelyn B. Bogronia, the Cultural Affairs Coordinator at Capiz State University Pilar Campus, and Mr. Deony P. Dolor, the Guban Handuraw of CAPSU Pilar Council Adviser, along with their students, graced the occasion, joined by CAPSU Satellite College Director Dr. Jennifer Perez-Benliro.

Mr. Reggie Joey G. Benliro, Executive Assistant IV, represented Honorable Mayor Arnold Perez, alongside Atty. Criselda Heredia, the Municipal Administrator, during this enriching one-day activity.

The launching and ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by SB Member Per Ian Perez, Tourism Officer Teresita Argame, MENRO Focal Person Val Piape, Guban Handuraw VP Junar Bantillo, CAPSU Pilar Satellite College Director Dr. Jennifer P. Benliro, Dr. Evelyn Borgonia, Municipal Administrator Atty Criselda Heredia, Executive Assistant Mr. Reggie Joey Benliro, LGU Staff, DEPEd, CAPSU faculty, students, pupils, parents, and other stakeholders.
