MANILA — Fuel prices are poised for a decline this Tuesday (12 March 2024), according to leading oil companies.

Shell, Cleanfuel, and Seaoil have announced reductions in pump prices, with gasoline expected to decrease by P0.50 per liter, diesel by P0.25 per liter, and kerosene by P0.30 per liter.

These adjustments are scheduled to take effect at 6 a.m. on March 12.

Last week saw a mixed bag of changes, as diesel and kerosene prices dropped by P0.40 and P0.35 per liter, respectively, while gasoline prices rose by P0.50 per liter.

MANILA — On Monday, November 20, 2023, a group of less than 100 individuals convened at the intersection of Agoncillo and Pedro Gil St. in Manila to stage a protest rally. The demonstrators passionately called on the government to take immediate measures for the price control of oil products in response to the escalating fuel prices.

A part and parcel of the three-day transtrike, the gathering, predominantly composed of jeepney drivers, vehemently opposed the administration’s mandated consolidation of all jeepney drivers and operators into a cooperative, a prerequisite for them to join the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program.
