MANILA — The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) announced on Monday (March 18, 2024) that LRT-1 operations will be suspended during the Holy Week, from March 27 to March 31, to conduct its annual preventive maintenance activities.
This temporary closure will also facilitate mandatory testing activities for the system integration of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension.
LRMC Chief Operating Officer Rolando J. Paulino III stated, “The first day of the no-operations period will be dedicated to the train movement simulation from LRT-1 Cavite Extension stations to the existing LRT-1 Gil Puyat Station.”
“For the remaining days, our Engineering Team will conduct essential maintenance activities to improve capacity and performance across the line, enabling us to serve our LRT-1 passengers with a better, more reliable transport system,” Paulino added.
LRMC confirmed that normal operations for LRT-1 will resume on April 1 at its usual start time of 4:30 AM.
Meanwhile, MRT-3 and LRT-2 will suspend their operations from March 28 to March 31 for maintenance activities.

MANILA — The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) will suspend operations during Holy Week, from March 28 (Holy Thursday) to March 31 (Easter Sunday).
According to the LRTA, this suspension is to facilitate the annual maintenance activities of LRT-2.
In the meantime, the LRTA will implement shortened operating hours on March 27 (Holy Wednesday).
The first train will depart from Recto Station and Antipolo Station at 5:00 AM, with the last train scheduled to depart at 7:00 PM from the same stations.
Regular operations of the LRT-2 will resume on April 1, 2024.
