MANILA — Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia on Thursday presented an additional sum of P10 million in funding, in the form of a check, to Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Admiral Artemio Abu as a token of gratitude for their support during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan 2023 (BSKE) election preparations.
The event was attended by Comelec Commissioner Rey Bulay, who is responsible for overseeing the 2023 BSKE election, and PCG’s Vice Admiral Rolando Punzalan.
The funding allocation, which was initiated by Commissioner Bulay and approved by the Comelec en banc, was warmly acknowledged by Admiral Abu.
Admiral Abu expressed his appreciation to Comelec Chair Garcia for the financial assistance, which will greatly aid the poll body in organizing the upcoming BSKE election scheduled for October 30, 2023.
Admiral Abu also mentioned that the check would be handed over to their comptroller and chief logistic officer.
