MANILA — Saying that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is facing charges of sex trafficking and bulk cash smuggling, among others, in the United States, Gabriela party-list Representative Arlene Brosas has called for his extradition to face the complaints.

Quiboloy, who claims to be the “appointed Son of God” and who heads the Kingdom of Jesus Christ religious group based in Davao and a close friend of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, was issued a federal arrest warrant on November 10, 2021, according to the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) website.

“The government must immediately extradite Quiboloy. Eh anong ginagawa ng DOJ? Kailangan niya harapin itong mga karumal dumal na kaso na ito,” Brosas said.

She disclosed that Quiboloy “is facing appalling crimes” including conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, tapos sex trafficking of children, at saka bulk cash smuggling.

At the same time, Quiboloy must also be investigated over his alleged ownership of TV station SMNI.

“Hindi pa natin nauungkat kung ano talaga ang role ni Quiboloy diyan sa SMNI when for all you know lahat naman ng tao na familiar sa SMNI eh talagang si Quiboloy ang tinuturo,” Brosas quipped.

SMNI earlier claimed that Quiboloy does not own the company and is merely a blocktimer.

SHORT OF SAYING THAT HE SHOULD MAN UP, House Assistant Minority Leader and Gabriela Rep. Arlene Brosas has dared former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to face the complaint filed against him by fellow Makabayan bloc member ACT Teachers party-list Representative France Castro.

Brosas said Duterte should not evade Castro’s grave threat complaint just like what he did with the International Criminal Court (ICC) that is investigating FRRD’s alleged “crimes against humanity” in the course of Duterte’s campaign against illegal drugs throughout his six-year term as president of the Republic.

She noted that Duterte no longer enjoys presidential immunity from suit.

“Again wala na siyang immunity kaya dapat humarap siya sa mga kasong ito laban sa kanya,” Brosas pointed out in a press conference on Friday.

Duterte earlier said that he would rather go to jail than submit his counter-affidavit on Castro’s grave threat complaint.

“Humarap siya. Kaya dapat maging accountable siya at harapin niya ang kaso laban sa kanya,” Brosas insisted.

She added: “Huwag niyang takasan ang kasong ito tulad ng ginagawa niya na pag-iwas sa imbestigasyon ng International Criminal Court or ICC hinggil sa kanyang war on drugs.”
