MANILA — The Department of Labor and Employment is offering free rides for workers on Labor Day, May 1, on both the LRT-2 and MRT-3 lines.

According to an announcement on Facebook, the complimentary rides will be available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This initiative is being undertaken in partnership with the Department of Transportation.

DOLE has stated that commuters will need to present their IDs to avail of the free rides.

“Please present your company ID (or government-issued ID for those aged 18 and above),” as stated in the announcement.

MANILA — The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) will suspend operations during Holy Week, from March 28 (Holy Thursday) to March 31 (Easter Sunday).

According to the LRTA, this suspension is to facilitate the annual maintenance activities of LRT-2.

In the meantime, the LRTA will implement shortened operating hours on March 27 (Holy Wednesday).

The first train will depart from Recto Station and Antipolo Station at 5:00 AM, with the last train scheduled to depart at 7:00 PM from the same stations.

Regular operations of the LRT-2 will resume on April 1, 2024.
