MANILA — Continuing her remarkable streak, Filipina tennis prodigy Alex Eala secured her second International Tennis Federation (ITF) doubles title of the year at the ITF Open 3C Seine-et-Marne in Croissy-Beaubourg, France, on Saturday.

During an exhilarating doubles final on Saturday night (Philippine time), Eala, alongside her partner Estelle Cascino of France, triumphed over the top-seeded duo of Maia Lumsden from Great Britain and Jessika Ponchet of France in straight sets, with scores of 7-5, 7-6.

For Eala, this victory marks a triumphant comeback following her exit from the women’s singles tournament in the Round of 16 on Wednesday.

Eala and Cascino showcased exceptional teamwork throughout the tournament, defeating formidable opponents en route to the final. Their journey included victories over Prarthana Thombare and Céline Naef in the round of 16, Emily Appleton and Isabelle Haverlag in the quarterfinals, and Kira Pavlova and Marie Weckerle in the semifinals.

Earlier in January, Eala, alongside Latvian partner Darja Semenistaja, clinched the doubles title at the ITF Nuc-Deccan Women’s Doubles Tournament in Pune, India, by defeating the Hungarian-British pair of Fanny Stollár and Naiktha Bains in straight sets.
