MANILA — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), several regions in the country are set to experience rain showers attributed to the presence of a shear line and the northeast monsoon or “amihan” on Thursday.

Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte are expected to encounter scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line. PAGASA’s 4 a.m. weather forecast highlights the possibility of moderate to heavy rains in these areas, which could potentially trigger flash floods or landslides.

The shear line is also anticipated to bring light rains over Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

On the other hand, “amihan” will likely result in isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region and the remaining parts of Central Luzon.

Metro Manila

Meanwhile, PAGASA forecaster Benison Estareja mentioned that the easterlies may induce humid weather conditions, particularly in Southern Luzon.

Across Metro Manila and other parts of the country, isolated rain showers are expected due to the influence of the easterlies and localized thunderstorms, as per Estareja’s remarks.

Fortunately, there are no forecasts for tropical cyclone development in the country until the weekend.

PAGASA predicts moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas prevailing over Luzon, the Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao. In other areas, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, according to PAGASA.
