MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) Spokesperson Police Col. Jean Fajardo announced Tuesday (02 Jan 2024) plans to deploy 15,000 officers to ensure the security of Traslacion 2024.

Fajardo stated that they are actively coordinating with relevant agencies in preparation for the Feast of the Nazarene on January 9.

“Our security forces have been sectorized, and we concluded a final coordinating conference last week,” mentioned Fajardo on Tuesday (02 Jan 2024).

She added that the route used during the 2020 Traslacion will be employed again this year.

“In case of any additional infrastructure or obstructions along the route, clearing operations are underway in collaboration with other agencies and the LGU of Manila,” she explained.

Addressing safety concerns, Fajardo expressed the intention to implement physical distancing measures in controlled areas around Quiapo Church. This aims to ensure a secure environment for devotees during Mass.

“We will strive to implement physical distancing in the controlled areas facing Quiapo Church so that our roving PNP personnel can move safely while our fellow countrymen attend Mass,” assured Fajardo.
