MANILA — Manny Castaneda, a seasoned actor and director, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024, as confirmed by his close friend and current FDCP chairperson, Jose Javier Reyes.
Reyes, who shared a deep bond with Castaneda since childhood, paid tribute to him on Facebook, reminiscing about their enduring 61-year friendship.
He noted their journey from meeting at De La Salle College to navigating the world of show business together.
Despite their differences, Castaneda was a cherished part of Reyes’ life. Reyes expressed profound sadness at the loss of his “irreplaceable best friend,” adding that he would miss him greatly.
