MANILA — Arellano University clinched its fifth consecutive championship in the NCAA Season 99 Cheerleading Competition, held at the Filoil EcoOil Center, San Juan City.

The team wowed the judges with their stunts and routines, earning 253.5 points and a cash prize of P100,000. This victory marks their sixth title in the last seven seasons.

The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) Altas Perps Squad, once dominant with nine championships, finished as runners-up for the fifth consecutive year with 231.5 points.

Letran secured third place with 206 points, dedicating their finish to their late coach, Arnold Villanueva.

The Altas Perps Squad and Letran Cheering Squad received P75,000 and P50,000 respectively.

Jose Rizal University passed the Season 100 hosting rights to Lyceum of the Philippines.

The next NCAA season is tentatively set to start on August 17, 2024.

MANILA – Arellano University clinched a quarterfinal berth in the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball Invitational League (GVIL) by defeating De La Salle-Zobel, 25-21, 17-25, 25-20, at the Paco Arena on Tuesday (04 June 2024).

Samantha Maranan led the Lady Braves with 19 points, while Catherine Chu added 14. The victory gives Arellano a 3-1 record in Pool B.

Next, Arellano will face the unbeaten Adamson University from Pool D in the quarterfinals.

In other matches, Lyceum of the Philippines High School dominated Chiang Kai Shek High School with a 25-16, 25-13 win in Pool A. Lyceum and Bethel Academy are now tied at 3-1, but Bethel holds the No. 1 spot due to a higher match point tally, 10-8.

Lyceum has a chance to secure the last quarterfinal slot in Pool A if De La Salle-Lipa loses to California Academy in their ongoing match.

In Pool C, Montessori School pulled off an upset by defeating the University of Santo Tomas, 21-25, 25-19, 25-21, to secure their quarterfinal position.

Shahanna Lleses scored 14 points, and Shekaina Lleses contributed 11 for the Lady Vikings, who will face Bethel Academy at the Adamson University gym on Wednesday.
