MANILA — Legazpi City will host the 2024 PRISAA National Games from July 20 to 26, gathering 10,000 student-athletes and officials.

The announcement was made by PRISAA National Chairman Fr. Vicente Uy and Bicol PRISAA President Edgar Balasta following approval of the competition program and billeting venues at their national board meeting last May 10.

The games, which were rescheduled due to changes in the Department of Education’s calendar and the Palarong Pambansa in Cebu, serve as the pinnacle event for student-athletes from PRISAA member colleges and senior high schools nationwide.

“The PRISAA National Games reaffirm our commitment to grassroots sports and holistic youth development,” said Fr. Uy.

He highlighted the success of the PRISAA-PSC memorandum of agreement in fostering programs such as Certification Courses for coaches, talent identification, and the Adopt an Athlete Initiative.

Balasta emphasized that venue preparations in Legazpi City are nearing completion for the competitions, with athlete and official rosters expected soon.

The collaboration between PRISAA and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) was solidified during the PRISAA National Congress at the University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi on January 12, attended by PSC Chairman Richard Bachmann and Commissioner Edward Hayco.
