MANILA — “The greatest victory is that which requires no battle,” thus wrote the legendary Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu in his book “The Art of War” which seemingly inspired China to “infiltrate” into the internal affairs of the Philippines, particularly in the arena of economy and politics.

Amid reports that Bamban (Tarlac) Mayor Alice Guo is a probable Chinese national who has been placed under a six-month preventive suspension without pay by the Office of the Ombudsman due to her alleged ties to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) and the continued aggression of Chinese forces in the West Philippine Sea (WPS),
Philippine Navy spokesperson for the WPS Commodore Roy Trinidad said Filipinos should be aware of any possible security threat these may pose.

“Maraming iba’t ibang reports na ginagawa ang China. May presence sila not only militarily, but economically, politically, educationally—-across all the instruments of national power—-may ginagawa ang China. At nangyayari ito all over the country,” Trinidad noted in a Super Radyo dzBB interview on Sunday (8 June 2024).

He cautioned Filipinos, especially those living in areas where there is only limited presence of security forces, that they should be mindful of their surroundings and to report to authorities any suspicious activity involving Chinese citizens.

“Ang mas mahalaga na maintindihan at maging aware, maging conscious ang ating mga kababayan ay ‘yung mga nangyayari all over the country. Bagamat hindi ko sinasabi na threat na ito to our nation, but it’s too good to be coincidental,” Trinidad further said.

He also urged the public to be patriotic enough and not to fall for any crime, pointing to the uncovered illegal activities by several Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

“Ang ginagawa naman sa atin ng Tsina is to penetrate Philippine society, our political system, our economic system. Penetrate us across all the instruments of national power all dimensions, and destroy us from within. Kailangan magmasid talaga tayong lahat,” Trinidad said.
