MANILA — FIDE Master David Elorta clinched victory in the Mayor Seth Frederick “Bullet” Jalosjos Open rapid chess tournament at the Dapitan Sports and Cultural Complex in Zamboanga del Norte on June 30, 2024.
With a score of 9.0 points, Elorta demonstrated his mastery of the London System Opening and Caro-Kann Defense, defeating top contenders to secure the PHP30,000 prize.
He is now preparing to compete in the 2nd Gov. Henry Oaminal Open on July 9-10 in Clarin, Misamis Occidental.
