A total of one thousand (1,000) Manila Police District personnel will be strategically stationed at polling stations for the October 30, 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections. The usual gun gun ban took effect at the start of the election period on the 28th of August 2023 and is now officially enforced. Per Comelec’s directive, police checkpoints are to be strategically enforced in Manila and throughout the entire archipelago.

Featured images show some checkpoint paraphernalia and ranking MPD officers locking arms to show their unity and support to the objective during the simple send-off ceremony that occurred on August 26, 2023, at the MPD Headquarters along UN Ave. Malate, Manila.

The PNP’s deployment at polling precincts and erection of checkpoints is a collaborative effort between the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the PNP per Comelec Resolution No. 10918.

MPD Director PBGen. Andre Dizon, and Atty. Jubil Surmieda, the Regional Election Director of Comelec attended the ocassion. Their combined efforts are aimed at facilitating a smooth and successful election process in October.
