MANILA — Over 800 uniformed personnel from the Manila Police District (MPD) have been deployed as the 2023-2024 school year commences.

In line with the start of School Year 2023-2024, a significant contingent of uniformed personnel from the Manila Police District (MPD) has been mobilized on Monday, August 7, 2023, the start of the enrolment period.

Brigadier General Andre Dizon, Chief of the MPD, reported that a total of 780 police officers donning uniforms have been strategically positioned across the city to oversee both public and private educational institutions, totaling 250 in number.

The primary objective of this deployment is to ensure the comprehensive safety of students, extending its coverage not only within school premises but also encompassing their journeys to and from schools, thereby safeguarding parents and educators as well.

Furthermore, Police Assistance Desks (PADs) have been established within the confines of these schools to provide an accessible point of contact.

Employing a variety of units including motorcycle and bicycle patrols, as well as foot patrols, vigilant monitoring remains ongoing throughout the inaugural Balik-Eskwela event of 2023-2024.
