MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that both the northeast monsoon, known as “amihan,” and easterlies will persist, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers across the country on Sunday (11 Feb 2024).

According to PAGASA’s 4 a.m. bulletin, Luzon will be under the influence of the northeast monsoon, resulting in cloudy skies with light rains in Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, and the provinces of Kalinga, Apayao, Aurora, and Quezon.

Metro Manila, along with the rest of Luzon and Visayas, will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, primarily due to the amihan.

Meanwhile, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and the Davao Region will encounter cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.

PAGASA issued warnings of potential flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas due to moderate to heavy rains.

The remaining parts of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms as a result of the easterlies. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are expected across Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon. Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the rest of the archipelago.
