Calumpit, Bulacan has declared a state of emergency in response to the severe flooding caused by the recent super typhoon Egay. As a result of the calamity, nearly all 29 barangays in the municipality have been submerged, making them impassable for both pedestrians and motorists.

Local residents are expressing distress over the floods, as it significantly disrupts their daily activities. Furthermore, the situation remains concerning as another typhoon named Falcon is approaching. Authorities are closely monitoring Falcon, which has been forecasted by the state weather bureau, Pagasa, to have maximum sustained winds ranging from 140kph to 150kph.
