MALABON CITY — Mayor Jeannie Sandoval of Malabon City spearheaded the planting of 300 mangroves on Tuesday (12 Sept 2023) as part of the International Coastal Clean-Up initiative along the Megadike in Barangay Dampalit, this city.
Nearly 700 personnel from various sectors of the city government actively participated in the extensive International Coastal Clean-Up effort along the lengthy stretch of the Malabon Megadike.
The participating teams included City Hall employees, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
Notably, students from the College of Malabon University also joined in the endeavor, playing a crucial role in planting 300 mangroves along Malabon’s coastal areas. (Benjamin Cuaresma/ai/mnm)
