MANILA — San Sebastian College-Recoletos surged in the fourth quarter to defeat Letran, 91-84, in NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball, securing a share of the early lead alongside San Beda University and College of Saint Benilde.

Rafael Are led the Stags with a game-high 30 points, including 10 crucial points in the final quarter to erase a 12-point deficit. Harold Ricio and Tristan Felebrico added 14 points each, while Raymart Escobido contributed 13 points and five rebounds under the guidance of coach Arvin Bonleon.

For Letran, Kobe Monje and James Juma-os each tallied 16 points, with Sherick Estrada adding 14 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Despite a strong start, the Knights, now coached by Allen Ricardo, fell short in the end.

In other news, the NCAA Management Committee is investigating an alleged mauling incident involving a league referee following the CSB-Mapua game during the season opener on Saturday (07 Sept 2024) at the Mall of Asia Arena.
