MANILA — Manila will honor the Philippine team’s triumphant return from the Paris Olympics with a grand heroes’ parade on Wednesday, August 14.

The event celebrates the historic achievements of double gold medalist Carlos Yulo and his teammates.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the parade will feature a 7.7-kilometer motorcade through Manila and Pasay.

The procession will start outside the Aliw Theater in Pasay and will proceed along Roxas Boulevard, Padre Burgos Avenue, Finance Road, Taft Avenue, Quirino Avenue, and Adriatico Street, concluding at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

The PCO has clarified that, despite previous rumors, the heroes’ parade is scheduled for Wednesday (14 Aug 2024), not Tuesday (13 Aug 2024).

On Tuesday, the Philippine team will return from Paris and meet with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at Malacañan Palace.

Carlos Yulo, who led the team with his two gymnastics gold medals, achieved several historic milestones for the Philippines.

He became the first Filipino gymnast to win an Olympic medal, the first Filipino male athlete to claim an Olympic championship, and the first Filipino to secure multiple Olympic golds.
