MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed heartfelt appreciation for his wife, First Lady Liza Marcos, on her 65th birthday, acknowledging her unwavering support and dedication to their family.

Born on August 21, 1959, in Manila, Liza Marcos is the daughter of Manuel Araneta Jr. and Milagros Cacho. She met Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in New York while pursuing her career as a lawyer in 1988. The couple married on April 17, 1993, at the San Francesco Convent in Fiesole, Italy.

The First Couple has three sons: Ilocos Norte First District Rep. Ferdinand Alexander, Joseph Simon, and William Vincent.

First Lady Liza Marcos is a passionate advocate for education, culture, and the preservation of traditional arts and crafts. She spearheaded the renovation of historic buildings at Malacañan Palace, transforming them into valuable tourism assets for the Philippines.

Among her notable initiatives are the “Lab for All” program, which offers free healthcare services, the “Likha” project promoting local arts and crafts, the Maharlika Hangar, and the Presidential Library.
