MANILA — With only a few months before the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) in October this year, the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas has reportedly firmed up its Senate slate for the 2025 midterm elections with 11 prospective senatorial candidates.

This was bared by veteran political strategist Lito Banayo in his July 4 column for the Manila Standard which said the administration’s senatorial slate is expected to be backed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and other major political parties.

Senators Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid, Francis Tolentino and Imee Marcos will reportedly run under the administration ticket along with former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, ex-senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Manny Pacquiao.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos, ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar are also included in the ticket.

There’s only one vacant slot to fill in the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate.

MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. solidified his political strategy for the 2025 midterm elections by formalizing an alliance with the National Unity Party (NUP), marking the fourth party to join his “Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas” coalition.

Marcos, as the chairman of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), presided over the signing ceremony in Makati City.

He emphasized that this alliance was not merely a “marriage of convenience,” but a union based on shared ideologies aimed at transforming the nation.

The NUP, established in 2010 by former members of Lakas-Kampi CMD and currently part of the PDP-Laban-led coalition in the House of Representatives, adds significant weight to Marcos’ political coalition.
