MANILA — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has officially declared the bomb threats targeting the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Central Office in Quezon City as unfounded.
The scare ensued earlier today, Monday (12 Feb 2024) prompting the office to halt its afternoon operations as a precautionary measure.
Reports indicate that the threat was communicated via email, raising concerns among the office staff.
“After extensive paneling operations and thorough inspections, the QCPD has determined that there is no basis to the threat, with no evidence of any bombs or Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) found on the premises,” stated the QCPD.
Further investigation reveals that the origin of the bomb threat was allegedly traced back to a Japanese national, who had previously been linked to a similar incident at the MRT Kamuning Station in September 2023.
